😊 Howdy folks! 👋🏾 Hope you’re well. Some of you had asked for information on herbs and spices, and how to use them. So here we go! 👩🏽🎓
We will start with fresh Thyme – One of my most favorite herbs. 😊
Thyme is a Mediterranean herb which has a distinct woody and floral aroma, and is sold both fresh and dried. Though the fresh form is more flavorful than using the dried version.
Thyme can be used to flavor meats (chicken, roast beef, pork, mutton etc), fish, starchy dishes (potatoes, rice, pasta) and also vegetables. It is an all-rounder, really.
It is also great when baked in Savory breads, Pizzas etc, and also in stews, sauces and marinades. 😋
It also makes a delicious herbal tea, when you steep it in hot water for at least 5 minutes. That lovely floral aroma is so calming….🧖🏾♀️
Medicinally, it is said to lower blood pressure, treat infections, boost immunity, treat coughs and improve one’s mood.
