Howdy folks! 😊
What do you do with leftover fruit? Other than making pies, and preserves (if the fruit is a lot), You make smoothies. 😋
This Pear and Pineapple smoothie was born out of an experiment I made one recent saturday morning. Had a 🍍pineapple lying around and some pears 🍐 that had begun to go soft…so I threw everything into the blender.
Well, not exactly like that, but close…😊
It was a yummy combination that I hope you’ll try. 👌🏾

300g Chopped Pineapple
250ml Plain Yogurt
200ml Pineapple Juice
2 Pears, Chopped
2 Tablespoons Honey (optional)
1 Tablespoon Chia seeds (optional)
Directions
- These are the fruits you’ll need. Pears tend to give smoothies a taste and texture similar to that of Bananas – so we’ve left that out, lest the smoothie becomes too thick. 😊
- Proceed to core the pineapple and chop into chunks/cubes. 😊
- Remember to save at least 1 pineapple ring for the garnish. Also, chop up the pear to similar size. 😊
- Transfer the fruit to the Blender, once done. 😊
- Pour in the Pineapple juice and Yogurt, and the Chia seeds too, if using. 😊
- Blend for about 5 minutes, until the Pineapple chunks are no longer chunks. Add honey, if using and blend for another 2 minutes. 😊
- Pour the smoothie into your prepared glass and garnish with the left over pineapple slice. 😊
This should preferably be served chilled. 👌🏾
Enjoy! 😋
