This has got to be one of my favourite desserts to make, because its both easy…and refreshing 🙂
Ingredients – As shown in the photo, I had mangoes, lemons, bananas, apples and oranges.
Cut up all the fruits into bite-sized pieces and combine evenly in one large bowl.
After that, make the syrup using the juice of half a lemon, 1 cup of water and sugar (amount subject to taste.) Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat for a few minutes. When iit starts to thicken only slightly, remove from the heat and cool.
Once cooled, pour the syrup over the fruit, and refrigerate. I prefer for the fruit to be immersed in the syrup, so I make as much as is required for this. Getting the fruit to soak in that slightly lemony taste.
Once sufficiently cooled you can serve immediately like so :

This is my personal favourite! Because the contrast between warm custard and cold fruit?…bliss All kinds of tastes and sensations in your mouth 🙂
- Another option is to serve this with Ice cream or Whipped cream.
